On 23 May 2012, I was on a panel discussion on Digital Advertising: Increasing engagement and connectivity with consumers. Also on the panel were Bruno Fiorentini Jr from Microsoft, Susana Tsui from Neo@Ogilvy, Matthew Harty from the Annalect Group and Jeffrey Seah from Starcom Mediavest, with Greg Unsworth of PricewaterhouseCoopers as moderator.
We discussed a number of topics relating to digital media, advertising and marketing, including the effectiveness of social media for advertising, the role of analytics, ROI measurement, the growth of mobile as a marketing medium and the challenges in hiring & nurturing digital talent in Asia. I talked about SingTel’s success so far in social media, especially in using Facebook as a Customer Care channel. I also related SingTel’s emerging role as a content publisher, citing the made-for-Youtube TGIS show.
Digital Matters was part of the week-long Music Matters 2012 series of conferences and music festivals held in Singapore 22-26 May 2012.
